“ There are so many moments in my professional life where I was told “you do not belong here,” “you cannot do that this way,” “you are not going to succeed.” And yet, I was there. And yet, I did it that way. And yet, I succeeded.” phew!!!!!

“The school pulled my scholarship without warning or reason and closed the publication before the end of the year.”

that part was probably the most brutal of the all.

😮‍💨 It was all so wild. It took me a long time to realize how harmful it was.

Wow this is powerful. I am so sorry for the hardships you have endured. And I am so glad you endured them, for the glory they have brought you in the triumph. Please be protective of your energy; in your writing, I can tell it is precious.

Congratulations on winning, and taking what you needed from the experience. It’s so nice to hear that you’re carving a space for yourself with your creativity.

This era I’m in is definitely called remembrance.

It’s going back to collect the elements of youth that served me so well - my intentionality, persistence, wonder, and fearlessness. I’ve faltered from that path a bit with all the awareness that comes with growing older but I see now how combining that spirit with the patience and trust cultivated as I’ve grown can work wonders for my next season of life.

Thank you for your offering and making me think.

Thank you for reading and rooting for me! 😆🥰🙌🏿

And thank you for your reflection, too. I was just talking about this with a friend this morning, talking about how as we age, we have to work to hold on to those youthful aspects of ourselves. It reminds me of marriage, every day you have to choose the act of love; every day we have to choose wonder, fearlessness, etc., or it might slip away in the rush of our modern world.

Big facts especially on the marriage part. It’s about choice and shaping what’s in front of you to invite in more of the same. Thanks for the reminder.
